Registration

Registering on MyINL, step by step

You can only register for the Sproochentest online, on the INLL’s MyINL portal. Have an email address you check often and your ID document ready.

  1. Create your account

On MyINL, click « Se connecter / S’enregistrer » (log in / register). Already took a course at the INLL? Use your existing account.

  2. Check your details

Surname, first names, date of birth: written exactly as on your ID document. They appear on the certificate and cannot be changed later.

  3. Choose a session

Under « Examens et tests » (exams and tests), open the Sproochentest offer. Pick an open session, at Glacis or Belval, before its deadline.

  4. Pay and wait for your notice

Pay the €75 as explained by the INLL. The date, time, duration and place arrive by email.

Deadline

The deadline falls well before the test

Each session shows its status on MyINL: open, full or registration closed, with its registration deadline. This deadline often falls several weeks, even several months, before the exam. A session can also be full before its deadline.

One registration at a time: you cannot register again for the Sproochentest until the results of your previous test are published. The number of registrations, however, is not limited.

The €75 fee can be refunded under certain conditions by the Ministry of Justice, on request, once you have submitted your nationality application at your municipality (Guichet.lu).

Your details cannot be changed

MyINL says so clearly: no change is possible once your details are saved, and they are printed on the certificate. Check the spelling of every name before you confirm.

Absence or late arrival

No test, no refund, no transfer. In a case of illness, accident or death in the family, send proof within 5 days: the INLL can postpone your registration, within the 6 months after registration.

On the day

ID document, place, time

The original, still valid

Identity card, passport, residence permit or travel document. Copies, photos and driving licences are refused. Without a valid document, no test.

Luxembourg-Glacis

INLL, 21, boulevard de la Foire, L-1528 Luxembourg.

Belval

INLL, 14, Porte de France, L-4360 Esch-sur-Alzette.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before the start: late arrivals are not accepted. In the room, only your ID document and a bottle of water are allowed; your phone, bag and watch go in the cloakroom (INLL general provisions, May 2026). Coming from across the border or from the other end of the country? Plan your journey on mobiliteit.lu.

Preparing for your date

A plan based on the time you have left

No public source gives a preparation time that suits everyone. This plan assumes you already have some Luxembourgish: if you are starting from zero, begin with a course.

More than 12 weeks

Build

Take stock with the INLL samples. Prepare how you introduce yourself, then one new interview topic a week. Listen to 10 minutes of Luxembourgish every day.

8 to 12 weeks

Cover the topics

Two topics a week: the present, a memory in the past, your habits, an opinion with ‘because’, your plans. Add photo description: who, where, what, what the people are doing.

4 to 8 weeks

Correct

Review common verbs, word order and the past tense. Record yourself, listen back, fix the mistakes that keep coming back. Practise listening with multiple-choice questions.

Less than 4 weeks

Simulate

At least two full mock exams: topic from 2, photo from 3, then 35 minutes of timed listening. Last week: your weak points and the logistics of the day.

Our Sproochentest pack works out this plan for you: you enter your session date and the modules are spread week by week. Get notified when it opens (form in French).
