Sproochentest registration on MyINL: a step-by-step guide
You can only register for the Sproochentest online, on the INLL's MyINL portal. Here is each step, from creating your account to receiving your notice to attend, with the rules on fees, absence and postponement.

Registration for the Sproochentest is online only, on the MyINL portal of the National Language Institute Luxembourg (INLL). You create an account, choose an open session (date, time and venue: Glacis or Belval), fill in the form and pay the €75 fee. You then receive the date, time, duration and venue of the test by email. Please note: sessions fill up quickly and each session has its own registration deadline.
In brief. Where: the Sproochentest page on MyINL. Fee: €75. Personal details: check them carefully, as they cannot be changed afterwards and appear on the diploma. Notice to attend: by email. Before you start
Get three things ready:
- an email address that you check often: the INLL sends your notice to attend by email;
- your exact personal details, written as on your identity document;
- your availability: sessions take place on weekdays, during the day, in Luxembourg (Glacis) or in Belval.
Also check that the Sproochentest applies to you: according to the INLL page, it is required for people covered by Article 14 of the Law of 8 March 2017 on nationality. Our article on the conditions for citizenship helps you take stock.

Documents you will need
On the day of the exam
Bring the original of a valid identity document. MyINL lists the identity card, passport, residence permit or travel document; the INLL page gives the full list of accepted documents. Copies and photos of the document are not accepted, nor is a driving licence. Without a valid document, you cannot take the test and the fee is not refunded.
If you have a disability
The INLL can provide practical adjustments or personal assistance. The disability must be certified by a document issued by a medical authority, to be attached to the registration file. The INLL FAQ advises you to state your needs, with a medical opinion, via the contact form as soon as your registration is confirmed.
